This 10-day Uganda-Rwanda trip is an ideal to experience what the two countries offer comparing the landscape and wildlife in the different habitats. You will experience the Mountain Gorillas, Golden Monkeys, and Canopy walk in Rwanda as well as the Gorillas, Climbing lions, and Chimpanzees in Uganda.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Nyungwe Forest
The guide will brief you and share with you about the trip and after breakfast, enjoy a scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park with an en-route visit to Nyanza King’s Palace, Butare National Museum lots of stopovers on the way for panorama sceneries.

Day 2: Colobus Monkey and Canopy walk
After a warm breakfast, take on colobus monkey trekking in the Nyungwe Forest. Expect to encounter other primates such as chimpanzees, lots of monkey species, and baboons.
Forest birds, and butterflies. Have a canopy walk in the afternoon and return in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Drive to Volcanoes National Park

Day 3: Drive to Volcanoes National Park

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking experience
Have a morning breakfast and head to the starting point at 7:00 am, Assemble at the park headquarters for a briefing along with your trekking gear, drinking water, and packed lunch. Head to the forest to track the gorillas, an activity that will take you between 1-8 hours depending on the movement of the apes in their natural wild.
After meeting and staying in the presence of the gorillas for a maximum of an hour, return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch. In the evening, take a cultural walk to Ib’iwachu Cultural Village. Retire at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Drive to the park headquarters for briefing, and hike up to Karisoke research center, established by Dian Fossey, an American primatologist who dedicated all her life conserving the lives of mountain gorillas until she was killed and buried next to Digit, a silverback gorilla she loved most. You will learn more about the lives of mountain gorillas at the research center.
After the activity, drive to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 6: Bwindi gorilla trekking Experience
Have a warm morning breakfast before driving to the briefing point for allocation of the gorilla group and park rangers who will guide you about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas.
Proceed for the memorable adventure in the forest, an activity that may take 1-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the wilderness. Meet and stay with the mountain gorillas for a maximum of an hour. Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the evening, you may go for a community walk in the nearby Batwa community, where you will be entertained and told the tales of their unique culture and how they lived in the mountain with the gorillas. learning about their culture is a unique experience.

Rise up to an early morning game drive anticipating to see early risers before they return to their hide-outs including lions, hyenas, and leopards.
In the afternoon, after a boat trip on the Kizinga Channel drive to Kibale Forest National Park, home to 13 primate species. Experience the drive along the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountain.
